An individual came to see us at the office asking if they can remove the points from their driving record because “I was told to pay the ticket” and did not know it could be fought in court. Since the individual paid the ticket the following happened: 1) they received 4 points on their driving record, 2) their auto insurance cancelled them, 3) the new auto insurance increased by almost $200.00 per month, and 4) the delivery company they worked for fired them.
Legal Takeaway: you have options if you get a traffic ticket...just ask.

Una persona vino a vernos a la oficina para preguntar si podían quitar los puntos de su historial de manejo porque “me dijeron que pagara la multa” y no sabía que se podía pelear en la corte. Desde que el individuo pagó la multa sucedió lo siguiente: 1) recibió 4 puntos en su registro de manejo, 2) su seguro de auto lo canceló, 3) el nuevo seguro de auto aumentó en casi $200.00 por mes, y 4) fueron despedido del trabajo.
