Jim was in his pickup truck stopped at a red light. Bob was directly behind Jim in his small electric car. When the light turned green Bob honked his horn at Jim for about 10 seconds. Jim moved to the middle lane, waited for Bob to catch up, and then threw a golf ball that hit Bob on the head causing him to crash into another car. Bob suffered head trauma and personal injuries in the car accident as well as the other innocent driver. Jim was criminally charged with a second degree felony for throwing a deadly missile (golf ball) at another car pursuant to Florida Statute 790.19. This unfortunate situation creates a lot of personal injury and criminal law questions.
