Civil Battery is an intentional tort.
A tort is a civil wrong that entitles you to receive compensation for your “Economic” (example: medical bills) and/or “Non-Economic” (example: injury) damages.
A civil battery takes place when a person (Defendant) intentionally inflicts a harmful contact to you (Plaintiff) that causes you an injury.
The Defendant may raise legal defenses (example: self-defense or consent) if you file a lawsuit against them.
We are here to help you if you have any questions.
