CDL drivers that receive a traffic ticket violation are not permitted to attend a driver improvement course (driving school) in order to keep the points off their driving record. It is important to also know that a CDL driver will still receive points on their license even if they plead “no contest” for a moving traffic violation.
Please keep in mind that this applies regardless of whether the CDL holder was driving their work vehicle or their own personal vehicle.
If you are a CDL driver you must prepare yourself because a traffic citation violation will not only implicate your insurance, but also your employment.
